sensational duo

Music can touch your heart, and the soothing effect it produces can undoubtedly ease your mind and body..

This post is about a latest carnatic music duet - Ramkumar Mohan and Srikrishna Mohan, known as Trichur Brothers..

I had a chance to listen to the videos of one of the concerts performed by this duo as part of Kalpathy Sangeetholsavam - a music festival which hosts a series of concerts as part of annual Chariot festival at Kalpathy - a village at Palakkad district in Kerala. While rendering a particular song, one of them concentrates on a particular musical note while the other one does an elaboration of notes, and their combined effect with perfect synchronisation leaves the audience spellbound.

Duet performances always reflect high energy and vigour, the way they maintain unison with supple elegance is awesome.

Both of them are Chartered Accountant professionals and they have been able to successfully devote themselves to music during their after-hours which is indeed laudable.

The Youtube video attached here is the one of the songs - Raghuvamshasudhaa presented during Tataaka Sangeet Mahotsava at Karkala in Karnataka - in which the notes of the song are rendered in various pace, which is an incredible performance!

tassie spirit

Tasmania (Tassie, as in local slang) is a wonderful holiday destination...It is an island state of Australia, lying south of Victoria..

We went for a four day trip last week, and it was one of the best trips we have ever had! I was awe-struck with the exquisite scenary and exotic beaches in Tasmania which take you to a world different from your day to day life..

We started our journey from Melbourne on a flight to Hobart, the capital city of Tasmania, and reached there in an hour. As the flight landed, the view of the thin strip of runway with sea on two sides was amazing..we took a rental car and roamed around a few places which include Richmond - an old european style town, Mount wellington - a hill top with stunning views of Hobart...

The next day we drove along east coast of tassie and took a ferry ride to reach Maria Island, which is a paradise indeed! the bewitching landscapes with the serene and tranquil environment, and the beaches makes it a must-see location in tasmania.. the warm and pleasant weather was a blessing, and the ferry driver said ..."friends, you`ve landed in Maria Island, which is at its best...you will love it" , and we realized the same and it was simply the best!

We continued our drive across the scenic east cost and stopped in a few beaches and lookouts and finally reached Launceston, another city in tasmania...
The Cataract Gorge in Launceston was an iconic location in the city, with the existence of immense flora and fauna, and we drove along the beautiful Tamar Valley wine route, while tasting a little bit of wine on the way!

The next day was the journey to Devonport, on a light house lookout and a chocolate factory..and on the way back, we took an 8-hour cruise to Melbourne..the cruise journey was like a star hotel stay with awesome cabins with all facilities, nice restaurants, bars, cinema, game zones with stunning views of ocean and sunset...the view of sunrise when it approached Melbourne skyline in the morning was breath-taking indeed!

Tassie is a must see location in Australia, if you like to unwind and bind with nature and its beauty.

fifa and mahindra satyam

Success stories were written, dreams stayed on, to be relived again...Thrilling and happening nights, smiles of the hosts, and the first Spanish triumph culminated FIFA 2010..

An important point worth noting is that it has brought a sense of pride among Indians..Advertising hoardings showing Mahindra Satyam at FIFA stadiums have certainly throbbed and swiveled the hearts of its staff and ex-associates!

The mighty empire which was written off by the world an year ago was appearing itself in its glory in front of the entire world, through hoardings in stadiums..Satyam being a technical partner of FIFA, its code was running behind every kick of the ball and was one of the reasons behind the success of the world's biggest sporting event!

I used to recollect my days @ Satyam often...the initial months at Hyderabad with sessions and fun activities including DJ, outbound, cultural evenings at its sprawling campuses had taken us into a different world altogether. The project days at Bangalore and Melbourne also has provided wonderful moments which would remain etched in life for ever!

It is an indisputable fact that its association with the world cup football has certainly re-invigorated this organisation as a brand..

Wish to see Satyam come back to its past glory!
